TSS Conducting Pilot Food Waste Recycling Programs for California State University, Sacramento and Nearby Restaurants

TSS has been retained by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, the 6th largest in the nation, to conduct food waste recycling pilot programs at California State University, Sacramento, as well as selected restaurants in East Sacramento, both full-service and fast food restaurants. The intent is assist these establishments to be in compliance with California Assembly Bill 1826, which mandates that commercial businesses in California recycle their food and organic wastes, instead of landfilling them.  Food and organic wastes collected will go to local anaerobic digestion facilities for conversion into electricity and alternative transportation fuels.
